Camera and scanned pages
Camera-to-book flow with on-device OCR for scanned pages. OCR can be wrong; check the result before relying on it.
Offline translation
Translate between English, Hindi and Urdu. Models download only after consent. Punjabi translation is not supported; Hindi-Urdu translation uses English as an intermediate.
Your reading tools
Text notes, chapter navigation, quotes, book ratings, vocabulary export, per-book reading speed and page-based reading goals.
Help and controls
Reading widget, more audio-help topics and app-lock relock settings.
Encrypted metadata backup
Back up and restore library/bookmark metadata with a separate recovery key and weekly option. Original book files are NOT included. Cloud-folder support depends on your Android file provider.
Whole-book audio export
Foreground processing, scanned-page OCR fallback and cancellation handling. Cancellation can wait up to 30 seconds for an encode stage.
Separate privacy choices
Push notifications and optional app-usage sharing are separate choices, both OFF by default. Read the privacy summary before enabling either.
Version code 8. The developer reports successful phone checks on his Redmi, but this is not a guarantee for every device, document or installed speech voice.
Before you download
This is a public pre-release, not a final release. Install over your existing Reshu app; do not uninstall first.
Known limits: OCR and translation can be wrong; Punjabi and Urdu speech depend on installed voices. Audio-export cancellation may wait up to 30 seconds. A minor “1 books finished” grammar issue remains.
- A scanned PDF can contain images instead of readable text. Do not assume every file can be read aloud.
- Online voices may require an internet connection. Offline voice availability depends on installed speech support.
- This is a directly distributed APK, not a Google Play download. Follow the installation guide and keep your existing app data when updating.
The download-page address stays the same when an approved public version changes.
Privacy and permissions
Many reading records are local, but online speech, voice search, sharing and backups can send information outside your device. Review the public v0.3.5 privacy summary before choosing those features.
